GUITAR LESSONS:
The Private Lessons focus on individual interests and are tailored to meet each students needs whether you are a total beginner or an advanced player! I also take groups of up to a maximum of 3 people at a great discounted price so feel free to join with a friend or two!

Taking lessons at my studio is about having fun while your going through the process of learning your instrument. It’s no secret, becoming a good player takes hard work, dedication and the right approach to practicing. With those principles in mind, you can become the player you’ve always dreamed of and I’m here to help!

In addition to Guitar and Bass Lessons, I have developed a unique Band Program that brings students of similar musical interests and styles together for an 8 week session which ends in a live performance! What better way to put your private lessons to good use?! This is way too much fun to miss!

I also offer many Musicianship Workshops & Tutorials in Music Theory, Ear Training, Improvisation, Rhythm Training, Performance and Vocal Coaching for all Instrumentalists and Singers.
Check out the Bands link for more information on the 8 week Performance Band Programs. There are several Student Showcase Concerts each year so there are lots of opportunities for you to gain some performance experience!

Bio

Having studied with several teachers through my teen years taking Piano, Voice and Guitar lessons, I had decided to embark on my formal music education which began in 1985 in Boston at Berklee College of Music .

After gaining my certificate from Berklee, I enrolled in the 3yr Jazz Program at Humber College in Toronto. It was a great privelage to study with a fabulous Guitarist and Teacher, the late Peter Harris. Peter’s motivational talks and demonstrations led me to practice correctly and my progress in my first year was such that I earned Humbers’ prestigious award for outstanding achievement. One of my proudest accomplishments for sure:) A very heart-felt thank you Peter!

Upon my completetion of Humbers Jazz program, I began teaching Guitar and Bass lessons full-time and gigging in Duo/Solo acts and in small combos. I continued my musical studies part-time at York University where I learned many key components of World music rhythms and melodies. This was a great eye-opener to the cultural styles that are evident today – especially rhythmically – in many progressive Rock bands!

Along with a very busy teaching schedule these days, I’m writing and recording new songs for release sometime in 2011. I hope to create a blog section on my site sometime in the near future to keep you posted on my projects, public performances and some student learning resources. Thanks for visiting me online and I hope to hear from you soon! Til’ then Rock on! Dave Glabais
